Did You Know About This

Are you concerned about the environment?  Well, you need to read this.  Take a look around this site.Click HERE This is put out by the Humane Society of the United States.  "Factory Farming:  Polluting The Environment, And Getting Away With It".  Together we're "Working to reduce the suffering of animals raised for meat, eggs, and milk."  Like I said before... This is not the family farms. It's the Factory Farming Industry.
God bless any of you who take the time to look.

  1. Kelly, I have sadly seen this first-hand. It was a large pig farm, and it's been years ago. At that time there were tons of small fishing ponds (where the locals did indeed fish) which were close enough to be affected by the pig waste. There were so many pigs, I even spotted about a dozen dead baby piglets thrown behind a storage facility. The owner saw me looking at them and said that sometimes the babies don't make it. It was a truly disgusting site. The man who owned and ran the farm was and is a kind and compassionate man. However, his family had always been in the farming business and this was the only way he knew to make a living--doing it the way his father and grandfather before him did it. He is still working the farm and has four sons who are growing up to take over the farm. I'm hopeful that the sons will bring some newer incites to the farm.

  2. Hi again...

I spent quite some time on the Humane Society website. They seem to be less aggressive than PETA in getting out the word on animal abuse.

I just saw Food Inc. the other night on cable. I truly believe that the more "mainstream" this info is, the faster changes will take place.

My Hubby is very interested in changing our diet. On his last visit home he came back fron the store with tons of veggies. He also got some Morningstar link sausages... which he spit out very quickly... and this is a man who will eat anything! I think is was the texture. We both like the Morningstar Original grilled Patties though.

I am going to check out some more of your recipes.

    See ya soon ;)

  3. God bless you for having this blog. I am very interested in animal issues and frequent The Humane Society and PETA sites. I want to be informed and help spread the word about the absolutely horrific things done to animals in our country and around the world. So glad to find someone else who cares too!
